Have you always been interested in jewelry design or taking your craft to the next level? In this class you will learn to make your own jewelry clasps, link, and connectors with square angles. Students will watch a demonstration and the have the chance to practice those skills on copper wire. At the end, students may link the components to make a piece of jewelry of their own.

Please note: All tools provided and no prior experience is required. Please bring a pair of safety glasses or purchase from the studio ($5).

This class is appropriate for ages 14+.

This class will take place at Studio 34 Creative Arts Learning Center, located at 34 Elton St, Rochester, NY 14607. The studio is located on the second floor of the largest of the three brick buildings on Elton St. Please use the entrance on the right side of the building under the awning labeled #34. Additional parking is located at the corner of Atlantic and Elton.

About the teacher:
Barbara DeYoung is an artist and a jewelry designer, but foremost, she is a teacher. She is a senior instructor at Rochester’s Studio 34 Creative Arts Center and teaches chainmaille, bead weaving, bead embroidery, jewelry design, wire wrap , and wire techniques classes at local schools, libraries and bead stores. Barbara has won awards for her designs using lapidary stones.
