Soap making is good, clean fun! Learn a bit about the science and history of soap and then make your own customized batch. Start with a base made by the instructor, using the cold process method. Grate and melt it, then add your choice of color, scent and other additives such as seeds, milk and herbs.
If you would like to request a sign language interpreter or will be attending class with an aide, please fill out our contact form. Please also let us know if you have any preferences (seating, vision access, etc). Classes will take place on the 2nd floor of Figgy Studio & Shop which is only accessible by stairs.

Meet the Teacher
Beth Byrne is an experienced, certified soapmaker and teacher who enjoys sharing what she knows. She began as a gardener, then herbalist, and finally, an avid bath and body maker. Currently, Beth serves as the Managing Editor of Making Soap, Cosmetics & Candles Magazine and is the past secretary of the Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetic Guild’s Board of Directors. She resides in the Rochester area with her husband and two dogs.
