Curb appeal can also be great for the environment! This beginner's class in planting New York State native species will guide you through planting beautiful flower gardens around your home that provide habitats and benefits for local wildlife and pollinators. After this primer, you will also feel more confident shopping at your local nursery and understanding your space. Bring a soil sample from your yard and we will analyze its composition in class.

This class is appropriate for ages 14+.

This class will take place indoors at Rochester Brainery, located at 176 Anderson Ave F109, Rochester, NY 14607.

About the teacher:
Whitney has been working in the environmental field for more than 15 years. Whitney's small business, In Situ Designs NY, conducts consultations for greater Rochester area homeowners to convert their lawns and landscaping into aesthetically pleasing habitats that benefit our natural world. Whitney is a botanist by trade and holds a day job as a biologist for the state. Whitney has degrees in plant biology and wetland and watershed resources.
