The class will consist of demonstrating the techniques used in creating a French Macaron employing the Italian Meringue Method from weighing and measuring the ingredients to baking and testing the results. Emphasis will be placed on the critical steps of making the Italian Meringue and the Macaronage (the blending and folding of the dry ingredients into the meringue). The class will entail some hands on participation by class members.

About the teacher:Jerry Murante is a retired lawyer having practiced in Rochester for 47 years until retirement in 2011. In pursuit of a more creative bent, he became a self taught pastry maker and baker with an emphasis on European tortes, cakes and pastries.Through hours of research and practice he has been able to hone his skills in that area and in 2012 he started his own business called The Baking Barrister.
