Are you searching for a fun and creative way to incorporate more plants into your household? If so, this two-day workshop is perfect for you!

In the first class, Sara Kozak from Ritual Clay Co. will teach you basic hand-building techniques to construct a one of a kind terra cotta planting bowl. You are open to make this as simple or complex as you feel comfortable with!

In the second class, Shelby Beyler, owner of The Botanist, will teach the proper way to pot and care for your newly fired succulent garden! The terra cotta planting bowl will become a haven for your plants to flourish.

Please note: This class will meet twice and students need to be available for both sessions. The second class will run from 6:00pm-7:30pm. All materials are provided.

This class is appropriate for ages 16+.

This class will take place at Rochester Brainery, located at 176 Anderson Ave F109, Rochester NY 14607.

About the teachers:
Shelby Rae is a Rochestarian with a passion for plants. With the hundreds of thousands of plant species in the world, it's hard to be a true expert in Botany, but Shelby has been traveling the country meeting with growers, viewing plants in their natural habitats, seeking expert advice, and researching so you don't have to. This is an educational company geared to providing the urban community of Rochester (and surrounding areas) houseplant knowledge to those who wish to bring nature into their homes. You can keep up with her events and tips on Instagram.

Sara Kozak is a Rochester based interdisciplinary artist focusing primarily on functional ceramics. Her emphasis is on the importance of sharing unique daily rituals which shape who we are and help connect us to each other. Over the past seven years, Sara has been a full-time ceramic artist and has had the honor of designing and producing collections for Anthropologie and HGTV’s Home Town. Her pottery has been styled for use in EatingWell Magazine & Country Living. Academically, Sara studied in the BFA program at SUNY Oswego and finished her studies at SUNY Polytechnic Institute with a BS in Communication & Design. She also holds an AAS in Graphic Design.
