Saturday, June 1st | 2:30pm-3:30pm | Moss Pole Workshop

Did you know that most of the vining tropical varieties of plants in our homes want to climb? Climbing encourages larger leaf growth as it has access to more light (yes, even indoors!) This is a hands-on workshop where you will be supplied with all of the materials required to build your own starter moss pole to watch your vining plant climb like it would in the natural world. The first part of the workshop will be a demonstration on how to create your moss pole and successfully wrap your vine. You will then work together to build your own poles and wrap your vines! Each attendant will leave with a tropical vining plant that you have started to wrap onto your new moss pole. Your vines will be pre-planted into a 6" terracotta planter, saucer not included.

This class will take place at Rochester Brainery, located at 176 Anderson Ave F109, Rochester NY 14607.

About the teacher:
Shelby Rae is a Rochestarian with a passion for plants. With the hundreds of thousands of plant species in the world, it's hard to be a true expert in Botany, but Shelby has been traveling the country meeting with growers, viewing plants in their natural habitats, seeking expert advice, and researching so you don't have to. This is an educational company geared to providing the urban community of Rochester (and surrounding areas) houseplant knowledge to those who wish to bring nature into their homes.
