Monday, May 18th | 6:30PM-7:30PM | Plant Parenthood: Soil Building + Amending

Growing healthy plants begins with understanding soil structures to maintain healthy
root systems. This is a hands-on class where students will learn the foundation of soil structures and which soil you should be planting your plant baby into. During this workshop students will build their own soils to match the needs of their chosen plant!

Please note: Students must have taken Houseplants 101 prior to taking this class. Each student will be provided with a plant, a pot, as well as potting materials for class.

This class is appropriate for ages 14+.

This class will take place at Rochester Brainery, located at 176 Anderson Ave F109, Rochester NY 14607.

About the teacher:
Shelby Rae is a Rochestarian with a passion for plants. With the hundreds of thousands of plant species in the world, it's hard to be a true expert in Botany, but Shelby has been traveling the country meeting with growers, viewing plants in their natural habitats, seeking expert advice, and researching so you don't have to. This is an educational company geared to providing the urban community of Rochester (and surrounding areas) houseplant knowledge to those who wish to bring nature into their homes. You can keep up with her events and tips on Instagram.
