Everyone’s heard the classic tale of a peaceful gathering of Pilgrims and American Indians as the basis for our Thanksgiving celebrations. But this story is far from the truth. In this class, we’ll divide fact from fiction to explore the real
history of Thanksgiving. From a harvest feast in colonial New England, to the Civil War, to customs of the present day, we will examine how Thanksgiving was established as a national holiday and why its origin story has grown to mythic proportions. Please note: Each ticket includes one happy hour drink, or a non-alcoholic drink, of your choice. Drinks and mingling will take place from 6:30pm-7:00pm, and the class itself will run from 7:00pm-8:00pm. Students will also receive 10% off dinner at Nox the day of class.
This class will take place at Nox Cocktail Lounge
, located at 302 Goodman St N., Rochester NY, 14607
