Thursday, January 27th | 6:30pm-8:00pm | Cooking Mushrooms

The world of culinary mushrooms is vast, and this class will help you expand your fungi horizons! Utilizing mushroom varieties you may not be used to working with (Shitake, King Oyster and Oyster), we will explore the depth of flavor that fungi has to offer.

In this class you will learn:
Varieties of culinary mushrooms
How to clean mushrooms
How to use all parts of a mushroom
How to make oyster mushroom “steaks”
How to make roasted, marinated mushrooms

Please note: Participants should bring a to-go container to take their food home in. Students will not be eating during class. Students will be standing during this class, however a limited number of stools will be available.

This class is appropriate for ages 18+.

This class will take place at Eat Me Ice Cream located inside The Hungerford Building at 1115 East Main St. Suite 148. Please enter through Door 1.

About the teacher:
Ali is the founder and owner of Spirit and Abundance LLC, crafting plant based artisanal cheeses and cultivating a plant based community that grows and changes with the seasons. She is a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America with a degree in Baking and Pastry, and The School of Hotel Administration from Cornell University. During her time at Cornell, she studied Zen Buddhism and that sparked her passion in plant based living, mindfulness and meditation.
