Introduction to Fusing: Pocket Vase

Saturday, July 17th | 12:00pm-2:00pm | Introduction to Fusing: Pocket Vase


In this class, students will design and create a fused glass pocket vase, a lovely addition to your indoor or outdoor decor! Students will learn to cut, shape, and assemble, then, using special fiber paper to create a negative space (for water and flowers), pieces are placed into a kiln for firing.

Please note: Please wear closed toe shoes. All tools provided and no prior experience is required. Please bring safety glasses or be prepared to purchase a pair from the studio ($5). Projects will be kiln fired and available for pickup a week after class.

This class is appropriate for ages 14+.

This class will take place indoors at Studio 34 Creative Arts Learning Center, located at 34 Elton St, Rochester, NY 14607. The studio is located on the second floor of the largest of the three brick buildings on Elton St. Please use the entrance on the right side of the building. Additional parking is located at the corner of Atlantic and Elton.

About the teacher:
Yvonne Fordham is a Master Gardener and professional glass artist. Yvonne’s love of the outdoors and flowers can be seen in her beautiful glass panels, bird baths, and garden art decor. Yvonne’s art can be found locally at The Artful Gardener and Studio 34 Creative Arts Center where she is senior faculty.
