SUNDAY, JUNE 4TH & 11TH | 11:00AM-12:00PM | DRAPED HYPERTUFA PLANTER

$72.00
In the 1800s, alpine planters (or troughs) were crafted from limestone. Today, we call this organic, alpine planter look hypertufa – "hyper" meaning “manmade” and "tufa" meaning "naturally occurring." During this two-part class, create your own unique hypertufa using a towel and cement mixture. It will be strong enough to last all year long – empty your flowers out at the end of the season so you can reuse it next year. This will be a conversation piece in your home or garden.

- Part 1 (June 4th): Make a rock-like hypertufa planter and leave your creation at the greenhouse to cure for part 2.
- Part 2 (June 11th): Fill your planter with flowers to take home for indoor or outdoor enjoyment!

Please note: You will need to bring a 30” x 45” cotton bath towel and a pair of rubber kitchen gloves to Part 1 on (June 4th). Because this is a two-part class held on different dates, students must be available for both sessions (June 4th and 11th).

About the teacher:
Jamie Snyder grew up on a farm that raised livestock, fruit, vegetables, and grain. Her love of plants and the outdoors helped her decide to enroll in college in horticulture, and complete a degree in landscape design from SUNY Morrisville. She worked in the garden center industry for 18 years where she had her hands in everything, but got to be creative designing containers for clients for every season. Jamie's business, Creative Gardens, reflects her passion for plants, flowers, and color!
