Express your creativity through glass! In this eight-hour program, learn skills such as how to light the torch, adjust the flame, stretch, gather, cut and fuse borosilicate (boro) glass rod and make colored cane. Students can expect to make at least five projects.
Please note: No experience is necessary. Breakfast, snacks and lunch will be provided. Please refrain from wearing flip-flops, open-toe shoes or highly flammable clothing. To ensure the best possible class experience for all students, please contact Rochester Arc + Flame Center prior to class if you have any concerns with your vision, hearing, hand dexterity, mental health, or dietary restrictions. Projects will be ready for pickup one week after class.
This class is appropriate for ages 18+.
This class will take place at Rochester Arc + Flame Center, located at 125 Fedex Way, Rochester NY.

About the teacher:
Eunsuh Choi is the archetypal immigrant’s tale run through the artist’s filter. Choi arrived in the U.S. with a Master’s degree in glass from Kookmin University (Korea), but determined to pursue further glass education, she chose the Rochester Institute of Technology as a place where she could both study English and earn a second MFA degree in glass. Choi’s work has been featured in a number of magazines in the USA, Germany, and Korea, and her artworks are also on permanent collection in the Corning Museum of Glass, the European Museum of Modern Glass, and 9 other world renowned places. Along with 22 years of glass experience, Choi has studio art experience in metal, clay, textiles, and fiber art. Her experience in glass include flameworking, kiln forming (casting, fusing, and slumping), cold working, stained glass, mosaic and glass blowing as well.
