Wednesday, February 16th | 7:00pm-8:30pm | Tarot History: The Order of the Golden Dawn

Tarot reading and occult practices have seen a resurgence over the past few years. But where did it all begin? While many use the cards as a fortune-telling device or a self-reflection tool, the decks' origin is a debated story. What you’ll find in many books may lead you to believe that the tarot contains lost esoteric knowledge, but the truth is no less interesting but far more mundane.

The final course will discuss the Order of the Golden Dawn in England and how members of the Order took the deck and transformed it into the tarot that we know and use today. We will also look at how the decks created during this time have influenced some of the most popular decks created today.

Please note: This class can be purchased as part of a three-class package including Tarot History: The Deck Creation in Italy on December 15th, and Tarot History: French Occultists on January 19th.

This class is appropriate for ages 14+.

About the teacher:
Tiff Monde is the face behind A Little Off Balance. She is an intuitive tarot reader, and has been trained in the art of Soul Tarot by Lindsay Mack of Tarot for the Wild Soul. As someone who was drawn into the cards in her late teens, she had a back and forth relationship with the tarot for the better part of 10 years, until she began a daily practice that slowly morphed into a desire to read for others. She hosts workshops on tarot, the moon, witchcraft, and teaches yoga in Rochester, NY.
