Eco Printing with Fabric

Wednesday, August 11th | 6:30pm-8:00pm | Eco Printing with Fabric

A workshop that combines the techniques of “flower pounding” and “bundling” to achieve a naturally dyed print on fabric. Discover the organic process of transferring lush florals and foliage, along with a lesson on fabric treating and preparation. You will be immersed in pattern-making with fresh leaves, locally sourced petals, wild flowers and sticks; each plant has a unique class of chemicals called flavonoids (a complex composition of pigments that are used to attract pollinators).

Please note: You will leave with a unique framed silk textile. It is suggested to wear old clothing.

This class is appropriate for ages 18+.

This class will take place indoors at Courtney Craig’s textile studio located at 35 Flatt Rd, Rochester, NY 14623.

Live subtitles will be available upon request during this class. If you prefer a sign language interpreter, please fill out our contact form. Please also let us know if you have any preferences (seating, vision access, etc).
