Tuesday, January 4th | 6:00pm-8:00pm | Alcohol Ink Abstract Backgrounds & Patterns with LaCott Fine Art


Explore alcohol ink and its application in painting to create a one-of-a-kind abstract painting. Students will drip, drop, and spread bold and vivid colored ink on the paper's surface in an organic and fluid painting style, focusing on creating organic shapes on the paper. In this class, students will experiment with ink application, blending, and color mixing to create lush backgrounds and will leave with a basic understanding of how to pursue the medium further. A colorful background will be used to influence student compositions illustrative patterns through line drawing and mark making. Students will be working on small practice exercises and then on a final finished piece.

This class is appropriate for ages 14+.

This class will take place indoors at Rochester Brainery, located at 176 Anderson Ave F109, Rochester, NY 14607.

About the teacher:
Laura Cott is artist + owner of LaCott Fine Art living and working in Western New York. Cott’s art is driven by natural surroundings and the visual storytelling of the interaction of light, line, and color. She works primarily with paint and non-traditional materials.
