In this class, students will be able to create a small book with a lot of detail and beauty. Using a basic bookbinding stitch with small beads for the binding, you will make a book suitable for sketching, journaling, or scrapbooking with an added touch of texture. Mixing artistic mediums to create a one-of-a-kind handmade book will teach you the patience of bookbinding and the design of beading. Please note: This class is a part of Rochester Brainery's "What A Crafty Weekend: Playing with Paper"! You can purchase a full weekend pass here. About the teacher: Rachael Gootnick is a local bookbinder and artisan. She does extensive work on book repairs and restorations and has a deep appreciation for printed material. When she isn't busy running her own business, Just Terrific, she also teaches a layout and design course at RIT. Check her out at the Brainery Bazaars and other shows around the Rochester area.
