Safely work in a hot glass studio and have fun learning to make your own glass beads! Demonstrations will be given on basic shaping techniques and surface embellishment with frit and stringers for your own custom look. Students will design and create up to five glass beads suitable for jewelry.
Please note: Please wear closed toe shoes. All tools provided and no prior experience is required. Projects will be kiln fired following class, and project pick up information will be given during class time.Age:
This class is appropriate for ages 14+. Students between the ages of 14-18 must attend with parental permission.

34 Elton St, Rochester, NY 14607. The studio is located on the second floor of the largest of the three brick buildings on Elton St. Please use the entrance on the right side. Additional parking is located at the corner of Atlantic and Elton.

About the teacher:
Marilynne Lipshutz is the executive director of Studio34 Creative Arts Center, located in Rochester's Neighborhood of the Arts for more than 20 years. Studio 34 Creative Arts Center is known for their small classes. Marilynne retired as a psychotherapist and took up glass blowing, glass fusing, and casting as a hobby which grew into a successful teaching studio, now home to 28 local faculty and visiting artists from around the globe.
Michelle Arena is the studio director at Studio 34 Creative Arts Center. She has enjoyed stained glass art for more than 35 years. Michelle teaches all levels and techniques using the Louis Comfort Tiffany Method. She also teaches fused glass, mosaics, and flamework classes. Michelle's art can be seen on display in the Studio 34 Gallery.
Studio 34 is known for small class sizes to maximize student learning experience. Since opening in 2000, Studio 34 has welcomed more than 15,000 students, some traveling from around the world to take classes taught by their professional faculty and visiting artists from across the globe.
