Celebrate "Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day" by creating an ice cream spoon out of metal. Because the class is designed to let students experience what it's like to work with hot steel, students will learn the basic operations of forging through a combination of lecture, demonstration and hands-on instruction with an anvil, hammer and tooling to give the utensil shape. A particular focus will be on the fundamentals of hammer control so students can get the steel to respond. Please Note: No experience required.
