Thursday, January 13th | 7:00pm-8:00pm | Citrus Fermentation

Citrus: a fresh, zesty bite of sunlight; a bright, vibrant salvation from the cold winters. Learn to preserve citrus by utilizing fermentation to create a depth of flavor unparalleled in cooking. Adding preserved lemons to soups or stews helps remind you spring is on its way! All students will leave class with a jar of preserved lemons to take home.

In this class you will learn:
How to define “preserved” lemons
The meaning of lacto-fermentation
How to make preserved lemons
How to make preserved orange marmalade

Please note: Students will not be eating during class. Students will be standing during this class, however a limited number of stools will be available.

This class is appropriate for ages 18+.

This class will take place at Eat Me Ice Cream located inside The Hungerford Building at 1115 East Main St. Suite 148. Please enter through Door 1.

About the teacher:
Ali is the founder and owner of Spirit and Abundance LLC, crafting plant based artisanal cheeses and cultivating a plant based community that grows and changes with the seasons. She is a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America with a degree in Baking and Pastry, and The School of Hotel Administration from Cornell University. During her time at Cornell, she studied Zen Buddhism and that sparked her passion in plant based living, mindfulness and meditation.
