Have you watched Whose Line Is It Anyway? and thought, “I can do that!” If you’ve ever wanted to try comedy improv, this class is for you. This workshop covers the fundamentals of improvisation, including agreement (saying “yes, and”), teamwork, and character work. Students will play theatre games and perform short scenes, making everything up on the spot. They'll also learn how to get out of their head, trust their instincts, and explore their comedic voice. This workshop has a specific emphasis on practicing how to stay in the moment in scenes by listening and reacting to your partner. Not only is improv fun, but it is also a tool for life: it can make you a better listener, public speaker, and creative thinker.
Please note: This class is open to all levels of experience.
This class is appropriate for ages 18+.
This class will take place indoors at Rochester Brainery, located at 176 Anderson Ave F109, Rochester, NY 14607.
Live subtitles will be available upon request during this class. If you prefer a sign language interpreter, please fill out our contact form. Please also let us know if you have any preferences (seating, vision access, etc).
