Wednesday, September 28th | 5:30pm-8:00pm | Deaf Culture 101


Join us at Red White and Brew of Rochester for this course that covers questions frequently asked about Deaf people. Taught by a Deaf person, this is a sacred space to ask real questions for raw answers. No stupid or wrong questions here. You will not learn sign language but that there are many signed languages. 

Please note: There will be an element of flickering lights during this class. Please reach out to us via our contact form if you or another student attending under your name has a sensitivity to flashing/flickering lights. A Happy Half Hour will take place from 5:30pm-6:00pm, and the class will begin at 6:00pm. Students will be welcome to a complimentary happy hour or non-alcoholic drink of choice. 

This class is appropriate for ages 14+.

This class will take place indoors at Red White and Brew of Rochester, located at 147 State St, Rochester, NY 14614.

Live subtitles will be available upon request during this class. If you would like to request a sign language interpreter, or will be attending class with an aide please fill out our contact form. Please also let us know if you have any preferences (seating, vision access, etc).

About the teacher:
Heidi is a devout Christian, loving wife, and fun mother to 3- and 1-year-old tiny humans. Heidi, her husband, and two children were all born Deaf. She grew up in the hearing world and entered the Deaf world in college. Her passions are crafting and organization. She loves dogs.
