Wednesday, March 30th | 6:00pm-8:00pm | Gold Shibori Wall Hanging

Shibori is the Japanese art of “resist dyeing" and uses different techniques such as wrapping, stitching or clamping to create a pattern when dyeing fabric. “Resist” techniques create areas where the dye is not absorbed into the fabric, resulting in a unique design or repeating pattern. In this workshop, explore both natural dyeing and the Shibori techniques on a medium-sized silk wall hanging. Rust to gold will be the color hues for this workshop’s natural dying process. At the end of the session, your final piece will be a custom tapestry that is hemmed and dowel-ready for display.

This class is appropriate for ages 18+.
