Build on your foundational watercolor practice as you work toward a personal illustrative architectural subject: house portraits! Working from a personal photo, students will construct a gestural house line sketch, transfer and finalize with micron pens, and use watercolor to bring the illustration to life with color and texture. We will break down the compositional drawing, talk about transfer, and practice different watercolor elements to create a cohesive 8x10 final painting.
Please note: This class is recommended for those comfortable with color mixing, brush control, and some basic drawing practices. Students are responsible for providing a house reference photo to work from, printed out (not digital), on paper measuring no larger than 8.5'x11."
