The fundamental rule of improvisation is saying "yes, and." It sounds simple, but sometimes our inclination is to say no or to ask a question. "Yes" can transform your conversations and your scene work. In this class, you and your teammates will use “yes, and” to turn a blank stage into scenes filled with objects and characters, all made up on the spot. You will begin to meet the infinite number of characters that exist within you by making strong physical, vocal, and emotional choices. You will get out of your head, trust your instincts, and explore your comedic voice. Not only is improv fun, but it is also a tool for life: it can make you a better listener, public speaker, and creative thinker.
Please note: This class requires prior improvisation experience, including but not limited to six Rochester Brainery improv classes or equivalent.
This class is appropriate for ages 18+.
