Are you interested in collaborating with others amongst your social life, art work, business endeavors, or civic advocacy? This playful workshop will explore the process of group work skills through a series of creative activities. Participants will be challenged with embracing interruptions, reacting thematically to each other, and integrating their individual decisions through a sequence of drawing games and relational exercises. All levels of art experience are not only encouraged, but necessary in making this exercise valuable for the group as a whole.
Please note: All-ages friendly. Bring an open mind willing to experiment together in a safe space.
This class will take place at University Gallery at RIT, located at 166 Lomb Memorial Dr, Rochester, NY 14623. Parking Info: After 5pm, all general, reserved, and visitor parking spots are open to the public in Lot E and Lot F. Park and walk through the breezeway to the right of the large orange MAGIC building, taking the doors to the right into Booth Hall. University Gallery is at the end of the hallway.
About the teacher:
Ray Ray Mitrano is immersed in social practice art, crafting unexpected encounters and people based situations with playful approaches. Ray Ray explores the merging of civics and art through several organizations, institutions, and collaborative work in Rochester, NY and abroad. He strives to cultivate engagement on a local level; bringing creativity into strategizing community based initiatives and activism. His social art and organizing can be found intersecting Rochester grassroots radio on WAYO 104.3 FM, amidst public space advocacy, and woven into various businesses, groups, and campaigns.
