When you were a kid, did you ever dream of being a knight, Jedi, or musketeer? How about getting en garde and trying the Olympic sport of fencing to fulfill those dreams? In this class you will learn the basic footwork moves, defensive actions, and use the actual fencing equipment!

Please note: Both first-timers and those who have fenced before are welcome. Participants must wear athletic clothing and be ready to sweat in the gear. Please wear shorts or pants that go past the knee and athletic shoes - please no Crocs, sandals, or boots. All safety equipment will be provided for you during this class.

The recommended age for this class is 16+.

This class will take place at Rochester Fencing Club, located at 3335 Brighton Henrietta Town Line Rd, Rochester, NY 14623.

About the teacher:
Originally hailing from Washington, DC, Sabrina was a fencer and foil squad captain of Temple University Fencing team ’05-’09 and coach at Appalachian State University ’10. She spent four years in Israel working as a violinist and science teacher while fencing for Be’er Sheva fencing team and stick fighting. In 2017, she presented her original curriculum on Honey Bees at the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) national annual conference in Los Angeles. She lived in Manila, Philippines intensively training and competing in stick fighting and bladed weapons fighting, as well as being a foil coach. She has a certification from Wingate Sports Institute in Israel as a Fitness Trainer.  She has been coaching at the RFC since 2018.
