Love the look of metal jewelry? Chainmaille is a popular bracelet for both men and women. In this class you'll learn about the types of metals and pliers used to make intricate yet easy patterns so you can continue to do it at home (with just two pairs of pliers!). The metal provided will be copper enamel in an assortment of colors, or a non-tarnish silver color.

Please note: All tools provided and no prior experience is required.

This class is appropriate for ages 14+.

Location:

This class will take place at Studio 34 Creative Arts Learning Center, located at 34 Elton St, Rochester, NY 14607 Suite 202. The studio is located on the second floor of the largest of the three brick buildings on Elton St. Please use the entrance on the right side of the building under the awning labeled #34. Additional parking is located at the corner of Atlantic and Elton.

About the teacher:

Barbara DeYoung is an artist and a jewelry designer, but foremost, she is a teacher. She is a senior instructor at Rochester’s Studio 34 Creative Arts Center and teaches chainmaille, bead weaving, bead embroidery, jewelry design, wire wrap , and wire techniques classes at local schools, libraries and bead stores. Barbara has won awards for her designs using lapidary stones.
