Come explore the magic and mystery of borosilicate (aka Pyrex) using a high tech torch to melt and shape your glass- even as a beginner! You'll create branches, leaves, and flowers during class. Then, the glass will be kiln fired overnight and available for you to pick-up following the class.
Please note: All materials, and protective eyewear, will be provided. Please wear closed-toed shoes. This class is for ages 18+ only.
This class will take place at Studio 34 Creative Arts Learning Center, located at 34 Elton St, Rochester, NY 14607. The studio is located on the second floor of the largest of the three brick buildings on Elton St. Please use the entrance on the right side of the building under the awning labeled #34. Additional parking is located at the corner of Atlantic and Elton.
About the Teacher:
Marilynne Lipshutz is the executive director of Studio34 Creative Arts Center, located in Rochester's Neighborhood of the Arts for more than 16 years. Marilynne retired as a psychotherapist and took up glass blowing, glass fusing, and casting as a hobby which grew into a successful teaching studio, now home to 28 local faculty and visiting artists from around the globe.
