In this four-part, comprehensive workshop, you will learn the Louis Comfort Tiffany stained glass method, which is an alternative to using leaded channels between glass pieces. Cut and shape glass to fit your design pattern and create your own piece of art. No experience required!
Please note: Masks are required for both vaccinated and unvaccinated students at Studio 34. Please wear closed toe shoes. All materials and glass will be provided. Please bring safety glasses or be prepared to purchase a pair from the studio ($5). This is a four-part class and students will need to be available on October 6, 13, 20, and 27 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The October 27th session will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
This class is appropriate for ages 18+.
This class will take place indoors at Studio 34 Creative Arts Learning Center, located at 34 Elton St, Rochester, NY 14607. The studio is located on the second floor of the largest of the three brick buildings on Elton St. Please use the entrance on the right side of the building. Additional parking is located at the corner of Atlantic and Elton.

About the teacher:
For the last 30 years, Margery Pearl Gurnett's professional career was spent working in hot glass. Over the past few years, she has worked in mixed media, with a focus on incorporating glass into solid diorama-like wall pieces. These 3-D pieces consist of colored and clear sheet glass, paint, paper, photographic processes, cast glass, glue, encaustics, fused glass, silkscreening onto glass, fused fired decals, sandblasted glass, and found objects. Margery graduated from Carnegie Mellon University where she completed her bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in 1977. She came to Rochester in 1980 for her master's degree in glass at the School For American Craftsmen at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Margery is internationally known as an artist and educator. Her commissioned installations may be found in airports, universities and private homes.
