Thursday, October 20th | 6:30pm-8:30pm | Intuitive Painting: De-Stress Your Mind

Want to get out of your head and make something meaningful that can help you manifest intentions? Intuitive painting is the perfect vessel to do just that. In this online class, students will create on a canvas with acrylic house paints. The goal is to walk away feeling as though you have a new mindfulness tool, as well as insight to use in difficult times or moments of quiet reflection.

Please note: Since this class involves painting, students are advised to use a drop cloth and to wear old clothes and an apron.

Supplies Needed:
- canvas made for oil or acrylic paint (between 8"x10" and 16"x20"; student grade works great)
- house paint brushes in various sizes
- sponge brushes in various sizes (available as a pack at most hardware stores)
- 6 house paint samples (small cans) in colors you are drawn to (available at Home Depot or Lowe's
- apron
- small spray bottle with water in it
- water buckets
- cheap, small brushes for finishing touches
- paper plates to use as palettes
- old rags
- paper towels
- gloves or Gloves in a Bottle (a product that prevents your skin from absorbing chemicals from paint and makes it easier to clean your hands after painting)

Optional Supplies:
- standing easel (a tabletop one works fine if working on a small canvas)
- your favorite art supplies that will add interesting texture or shapes, such as stamps, papers, water-soluble crayons, scraping tools, brayer, catalyst brushes, inks various shaped palette knives, bubble wrap, feathers, chalk pastels, pencils, charcoal, seashells, or crumpled tissue paper
- collage materials 
- matte medium to adhere collage materials 

This class is appropriate for ages 16+.

About the teacher:
Lisa Wagner has been teaching art classes and workshops for over 20 years and truly enjoys watching her students discover the joys of creativity. She has been in national watercolor shows, various local art shows, and has a studio in her home in the Thousand Islands. Her hope is to give people a slice of joy while they delve into their creative brain. It can be incredibly freeing and a wonderful stress relief!
