In this in-depth two night class, students will learn the steps needed to form, design, and glaze their very own slab ware serving platter! Student will use a rolled slab technique to form their platter and then they will use assorted slump molds to help achieve the perfect form. Studio stamps and tools will be available to students to create their own unique design.
Please note: This class will meet twice and students need to be available for both sessions (February 23rd and March 9th). No prior pottery skills required! Students' dishes need to be fired after class. Items will be ready for pickup three weeks after the class date. Students are welcome to bring their own textures or stamps to use.

:Sara Kozak is a Rochester based interdisciplinary artist focusing primarily on functional ceramics. Her emphasis is on the importance of sharing unique daily rituals which shape who we are and help connect us to each other. Over the past 7 years, Sara has been a full-time ceramic artist and has had the honor of designing and producing collections for Anthropologie and HGTV’s Home Town. Her pottery, Ritual Clay, has been styled for use in EatingWell Magazine and Country Living. Academically, Sara studied in the BFA program at SUNY Oswego and finished her studies at SUNY Polytechnic Institute with a BS in Communication & Design. She also holds an AAS in Graphic Design.
