The positive effects of mindfulness are well-documented: reduced stress, better sleep, reduced chronic pain, and an overall increase in well-being and health. But what if you just hate to meditate? What if you can't tame your restless mind? The classic "sit down in quiet and visualize your mantras" just doesn't work for everyone. The good news is, there's a reason certain kinds of meditation and/or forced relaxation may not be working for you, and there are ways to achieve mindfulness without forcing anything.

In this interactive workshop, learn a basic understanding of your nervous system and why a 'prototypical' meditation style may not be working for you. You will also learn practical mind-body tools that will build a foundational mind-body understanding so you can build your wellness practice at home based on your unique needs. 

The recommended age for this class is 18+.

About the teacher
Sarah Gerin is a transformation coach and the owner of Late Bloomer Coaching. Through a variety of embodiment practices, she helps people return to their authentic selves and heal from a range of experiences, including anxiety, shame, self-doubt, imposter syndrome etc. While being deeply invested in embodiment practices, she struggled for years to meditate and find relief - somehow "sitting and quieting the mind and magically feeling relaxed" just did not work! Eventually, through somatic training, the reason why she struggled for years became clear, and she's since found strategies that work without forcing meditation- and you can too!
