Looking to dress your home or office space with a modern take on the holiday? Oodles of fresh pine, cedar, cones, and other goodies will be available for students to design their very own brass hoop wreath on a 15 inch hoop base. This wreath design focuses on the simplicity of the brass hoop while working on small, finite details. Students will learn all of the techniques and mechanics to create this modern take on a holiday wreath.
Supplies needed in addition to class kit:
- sharp scissors, flower snips, or shears (for cutting pine)
- hot glue gun (optional)
Please note: Students will need to pick-up their supply kit from Rochester Brainery, located at 176 Anderson Ave F109, Rochester, NY 14607 on Monday, November 30th between 5:30pm-8pm or Tuesday, December 1st between 12pm-7pm. In the class students will be using fresh, local pine. With proper care, these wreaths can last through March looking the same as when it was made in November. Students will receive care instructions at class. Wreath-making can be a sticky and sometimes messy ordeal! We highly recommend bringing work gloves (found at Lowes, Home Depot, or Harbor Freight) for handling the pine. Additionally, we recommend bringing latex or poly gardening/work gloves for designing your wreath (thinner gloves makes for easier hand-crafting!). Gloves will prevent the pine from scratching your skin and they will soak up the sap. We also recommend either bringing something to protect your clothing from the sap or a change of clothing if you are coming from work.
