About the teacher:
Bead Breakout began in 2005 in the hallway of a mammography clinic in Rochester, N.Y. Dr. Wende Logan-Young, founder and then owner of the Elizabeth Wende Breast Clinic, had been beading since the 1970’s. She spread her love of beading to her employees by closing down the clinic one day every winter for a “bead-in, morale -booster day.” Wende brought in her own beads to the clinic and all of the employees created pieces of jewelry of their choice. One of the employees, Andrea Taylor, shared Wende’s enthusiasm for beading and the two of them decided to sell beads in this unusual location.

As word began to spread, Andrea decided to open her own bead store. Andrea has now been the owner of Bead Breakout for 10 plus years. Being able to express her creativity in designing jewelry along with her customers has been very rewarding. Andrea and Wende are now teaming up again to combine their passion for beading and Wende’s passion of collecting opals... Mexican Fire, Australian Boulder and Ethiopian.
