Nothing says spring better than growing and eating your own fresh, early-season greens, and kale is one of the easiest (and healthiest) to grow. Learn why kale has become so popular, which kale varieties are best suited for smoothies, kale chips, salads, and more, then plant your own container full of 5 different kale varieties in this hands-on workshop. Topics will include: how to situate edible plants in containers, which greens and vegetables do best in containers, how to harvest leafy greens from a container garden so it continues to produce, and easy care tips for your planter once it’s home in your backyard. The class includes all materials (16” resin planter with saucer (so it can be moved indoors if necessary), potting mix, and 5 different varieties of kale) and participants will take home their own planted edible container garden and our favorite, foolproof kale chip recipe.
Please Note: The finished planter will weigh approximately 20-25 pounds, so please be sure to have appropriate transportation home. Participants should bring their own gardening gloves if desired.
