Tuesday, June 9th | 6:30pm-7:30pm | Qigong

This class will focus on getting your Qi (energy) ready for summer. Participants will learn a few exercises to help detoxify the body and clear out the “stay at home blues” with a sampling of Qigong from both active and passive forms. Students will learn the healing sound for the Summer Organ System, which in Traditional Chinese Medicine is the Heart/Small Intestine Organ System. Qigong is a Chinese health care practice that is easy and fun to do, and has been shown to reduce stress levels, balance the immune system and lower blood pressure, among other benefits.

Please note: Participants are asked to wear comfortable clothing that they can move in.

This class is appropriate for ages 14+.

This will take place online through Zoom. Links for Zoom classes will be sent by 5pm the day of the class. If you do not receive your link, please check your spam or email

About the teachers:
Wendy Smith is certified in Qigong by Master Yang Yang through the Center for Taiji Studies and is certified in Tai Chi for Arthritis through Dr. Paul Lam's Tai Chi Productions. She has been a student of Qigong since 1999, practicing as a teacher in Qigong and Tai Chi in the Greater Rochester area since 2003. Her unique style is a blend of different approaches resulting from study with four different Masters, emphasizing the special needs of her clientele, the seasonal needs of our bodies and the combination of both active and passive Qigong. Due to popular student demand, she produced a DVD entitled “Qigong with Wendy,” focusing on movements for health and vitality.
