Tuesday, December 21st | 6:00pm-9:00pm | Shibori Dye Workshop

In this hands-on textile lesson, learn basic Shibori techniques with indigo dyeing. “Shibori" is a term from Japanese culture to describe a way of dyeing fabric by “resist.” Students will stitch, pole-bind, and clamp in the first 30 minutes, with 90 minutes to produce two finished cloth napkins. Instruction for care will be provided.

Please note: In addition to the two large cotton napkins provided by the teacher, students are also welcome to bring one cotton t-shirt with them to dye. Students are advised to wear old clothing.

This class is appropriate for ages 18+.

This class will take place indoors at Rochester Brainery located at 176 Anderson Ave F109, Rochester, NY 14607.

About the teacher:
Courtney Craig is a surface designer who enjoys the studio environment and creating custom textiles for interior spaces. Elements of vintage, contemporary, and traditional design are her favorites to explore. Courtney is currently living in Rochester and being inspired every day from the local artisan community.
