Piera Carubia is an Integrated Clinical Nutritionist who is focused on health and healing through mind - body modalities and uses a food centric approach to wellness. She has over 20 years of experience in Nutrition and Food Service and has been practicing functional medicine for the past 7 years, and obtained her Bachelor degree in Science and Dietetics at the University of Oneonta. She then went on to attend VCU Common Wealth University Medical College for post graduate work in Dietetics. As well as being a License Registered Dietitian and certified in Integrated Energy Therapy, she is currently the process of obtaining an advanced nutrition credential in the IFNA Academy of Functional and Integrative Medicine. She is currently employed at the University of Rochester teaching morbidly obese patients how to make lifestyle changes prior to weight loss surgery. In addition to running a group called Life after Weight Loss where she motivates clients to maintain a healthy lifestyle through seminars on the latest prevailing health and nutrition topics and cooking classes.
Piera has been a long time practitioner of martial arts, yoga and meditation. Her professional focus in the past seven years has been to help people overcome the physiological effects of food addiction and overcoming autoimmune disease through healthy clean living and detoxification.
