Combine DIY and functionality with this terrazzo-inspired Polymer Clay class. Roll, cut, and bake your way to a completely custom, handmade coaster set, perfect for adding a modern look to your coffee table. In this class, students will learn about the properties of polymer clay, layering shapes into a slab, and all finishing details from block to bake.Equipment needed in addition to kit:
- Greaseproof paper (wax)
- Cotton swabs
- Rubbing alcohol
- x-acto knife or craft knife
- Rolling pin
- Artist work board - (we suggest a large tile)
- 4” or smaller circle cookie cutter
- Oven tray
- Fine sandpaper
Please note: Students will work alongside the instructor to create the desired look of their inspired terrazzo patterns. Students will need to bake and sandpaper their coasters after class.This class comes with a supply kit. Please also select local pickup or shipping in the dropdown menu. Local pickup will be at Rochester Brainery on August 21 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. and August 23 from 4 - 7 p.m.

Laura Cott is artist + owner of LaCott Fine Art
living and working in Western New York. Cott’s art is driven by natural surroundings and the visual storytelling of the interaction of light, line, and color. She works primarily with paint and non-traditional materials.
