This is a short introduction to what stress is, how it can impact your health/quality of life and some tips and tricks to manage stress. During this class we will explore various methods of stress management with a series of interactive techniques that will be done seated, standing and with movement. This will include some breathing techniques as well as evidence-based strategies for reducing stress. The variety of techniques taught will better help participants personalize their own plan for incorporating coping strategies and relaxation in their life.

The recommended age for this class is 18+.

This class will take place at Rochester Brainery, located at 176 Anderson Ave F109, Rochester, NY 14607.

About the teacher:
Wendy Smith is certified in Qigong by Master Yang Yang through the Center for Taiji Studies, and is certified in Tai Chi for Arthritis through Dr. Paul Lam's Tai Chi Productions. She has been a student of Qigong since 1999, practicing as a teacher in Qigong and Tai Chi in the Greater Rochester area since 2003. Her unique style is a blend of different approaches resulting from study with four different Masters, emphasizing the special needs of her clientele, the seasonal needs of our bodies, and the combination of both active and passive Qigong. Due to popular student demand, she produced a DVD entitled Qigong with Wendy, now available as a video download (Qigong with Walking Animal Frolics), focusing on movements for health and vitality.
