At this one-of-a-kind workshop, participants will learn the art of transforming a cacao bean into a raw chocolate product from start to finish! To coincide with International Chocolate Day on September 13, we’ll sample a variety of beans from Fiji, Ecuador, and Tanzania so you can try chocolate in different forms! Learn how cacao transforms from a pod on a tree to the palm of your hand, and journey through the ancient art of making chocolate using traditional tools mixed with our modern techniques. Students will roast, winnow, grind, and taste the results. Take home handmade raw chocolate and a new, invaluable understanding of how cacao beans become chocolate.

Please note: All recipes for this class are vegan friendly.  
Please bring a to-go container to take your chocolate home in. Chocolate can make people thirsty, so please bring a filled personal water bottle with you, as only tap water will be available during class time. Please bring a to-go container to take your chocolate home in. Students will be standing during this class, however a limited number of stools will be available. 

Age:
This class is appropriate for all ages, although anyone under the age of 18 should be accompanied by an adult. Please purchase one ticket per person attending.

Location:
This class will take place at Eat Me Ice Cream located inside The Hungerford Building at 1115 East Main St. Suite 148. Please enter through Door 1.

About the teacher:
Laughing Gull Chocolates creates with a conscience.
