Friday, April 7th | 1:00pm-4:00pm | Ukrainian Easter Egg Painting

$30.00

Join us for a hands-on, how-to class for the art of making "Pysanky," or highly decorated Ukrainian Easter Eggs, using the traditional wax-resist (batik) method. Dyes, beeswax and a stylus are used to decorate the eggs with traditional Ukrainian designs. Fill your Easter basket with beautiful pysanky this year, rather than just plain colored eggs!

Note: This class is for ages 12 and up. All supplies will be provided. No previous artistic ability required - just a little bit of patience & a lot of enthusiasm!

About the teacher:
Tate DeCaro is a native of Rochester, NY, though she has also spent time living in the Hudson Valley, Canada & Siena, Italy. She has almost 30 years of experience making Ukranian Easter Eggs, having started at just 8 years old. During the days, Tate works as the Director of Development of Writers & Books. Tate looks forward to sharing her passion for the yearly Easter tradition of decorating Pysanky with & for family and friends!
