About the teachers:
Ever the chocoholic, Lindsay Tarnoff grew up in a family of bakers and sweet tooths, a family who instilled in her social justice values. As college graduation neared, and the question of a career post college was imminent, she started telling people she was going to "save the world with chocolate." Lindsay spent the years immediately following college working in the nonprofit world, but the idea of saving the world with chocolate brewed in her mind. Lindsay has devoted time and passion in developing a meaningful mission, delicious recipes, and a strong business, first in her native Rhode Island, then in her adopted home of Rochester, NY. Her business, Laughing Gull Chocolates combines chocolate - the food of the gods - with the community in order to make a difference at home and in the communities that produce our beloved chocolate.
Ali is the founder and owner of Spirit and Abundance LLC, crafting plant based artisanal cheeses and cultivating a plant based community that grows and changes with the seasons. She is a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America with a degree in Baking and Pastry, and The School of Hotel Administration from Cornell University. During her time at Cornell, she studied Zen Buddhism and that sparked her passion in plant based living, mindfulness and meditation.
