This New Year, give yourself the gift of health, and join us for a day of exploring a whole-food, plant-based way of life.

This workshop begins with an informative presentation and discussion tackling what a whole-food, plant-based diet is (and what it’s not), followed by a step-by-step guide to getting started, and a food prep demonstration where students learn secrets to creating delicious meals that nourish your body and satisfy your tastebuds. Plant-based, plant forward, plant powered, WFPB, are all phrases relatively new to the American lexicon, but this way of eating certainly isn’t new. Researchers and doctors have known for decades that a whole food, plant-based way of eating prevents or reverses heart disease, stroke, obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, and many cancers.

About the teachers:
Keri Barone and Elizabeth O’Connor are passionate about promoting a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle for reasons including weight loss and management, having a smaller environmental footprint, and having reduced risk of heart disease, certain cancers, obesity, and diabetes. They are RIT professors, holistic health and wellness coaches, and founders of Whole Abundance, a Rochester business dedicated to supporting people as they move toward a whole-food, plant-based way of living.
