Slate on SouthLearn how to decorate cakes like a pro! In this basic decorating class, you'll learn the proper way to fill a cake, as well as the best way to frost the cake (buttercream, of course!) and several different ways to decorate the finished product. At the end of class, you leave with a fully decorated cake and the knowledge of how to do for future occasions!
Please note: Please choose your ticket and cake type from the drop down menus above. The Ticket for Two option allows two students to work together on one single cake. If your ticket and/or cake type is not available, please contact us, as an adjustment may be possible.
This class is appropriate for ages 8+, although anyone under the age of 18 should be accompanied by an adult.
This class will take place at Slate on South located at 644 South Ave, Rochester, NY 14620.
If you would like to request a sign language interpreter, will be attending class with an aide, or have any preferences (seating, vision access, etc), please fill out our contact form.
Class ticket purchases are non-refundable for any reason. A transfer into a different class of equal or greater value may be granted if requested at least 72 hours prior to the class date. Students are always welcome to have someone attend in their place, too!
While we know this is not always ideal, as a small business this is the only way we can ensure our teachers are paid for their time and supplies and our venues are paid rent for their space. We appreciate your support!

Slate On South is a boutique event venue, ideal for intimate gatherings of up to 40 guests. With bright and neutral finishes, the space is versatile, catering to a variety of events such as classes, private parties, meetings, photo shoots, showers, and micro-weddings.
