No, we are no longer located on Anderson Avenue and we currently do not have a physical location for venue space or party rentals. Our HQ is located at Rochester Arc + Flame Center, 125 FedEx Way, Rochester, NY, 14624. While AFC isn’t available for private event rentals, the studio is home to our teacher training facility and the Brainery’s glass flameworking, glass fusing, welding, and blacksmithing classes. 

No, at this time, Rochester Brainery is not offering “venue only” rentals. Our private events are paired with interactive, teacher-led classes, offered in a variety of subjects in cooking, gardening, painting, and more.

Yes, our private events are unlike traditional parties and gatherings– in a good way! Designed to be enriching and interactive for all, Rochester Brainery’s private events are a unique and personalized experience to explore a new hobby alongside our expert teachers! Our private events are great options for personal events and corporate team builders to celebrate and connect with each other through a guided, fun activity.

Payment in full is due at the time of booking. This allows us to commit to the teacher and the venue. Brainery Private events are not considered booked until payment is made. Payment can be made with cash, check, or credit card. 

Our private events are nonrefundable once your invoice has been paid in full. In the rare occurrence that Rochester Brainery must cancel your event, we will either reschedule or you will receive a full refund through your original form of payment. 

Typically, we recommend that you inquire at least 30 days prior to your event, and the more time the better. However, this can vary based on class type, teacher availability, and schedule changes. To ensure that an experience can be planned for your desired date, we ask that you give us at least two options.

Aside from our cooking classes, our teachers typically allow outdoor food and drink at their venue, sometimes for a small fee. We do not work directly with a catering company, so you are welcome to choose and bring your own accommodations that work best for you. Please note, at this time, we do not have a liquor license, and serving alcohol during class is not permitted. 

We get it– life happens! Emergencies, illness, and unexpected obligations can unfortunately alter our plans. While we do not offer refunds for guests who missed the event, you are welcome to bring other guests in their place for the event! 

We guarantee guest counts to our teachers and venues based on our agreement with you, so we are unable to offer refunds for guests who did not attend. This policy is to ensure that our teachers are compensated correctly for their time, expertise, and supplies in preparing for and hosting the event. Thank you for your understanding!

Additional guests may be accommodated if we are notified in advance, dependent on instructor and space maximums. If more guests attend than were originally accounted for in your initial invoice, we will send you an updated invoice to pay the difference.

It depends! Our private events are suitable for various group sizes, and only require a minimum of one attendee to book. For detailed information on class sizes and maximum capacities, please refer to the individual listings for each private event class.
