Terms & Conditions and Service

All Brainery class tickets are non-refundable for any reason, including but not limited to non-attendance, scheduling conflicts, illness, or personal emergencies.

Brainery classes are ticketed, event-based experiences. As is standard across the event and workshop industry, instructors are compensated and venues are reserved based on tickets sold, not attendance. This policy allows us to fairly compensate our instructors, cover material costs, and pay our venue partners.

It is your responsibility to know the date, time, location and any other pertinent information regarding your class.

Transfers
A transfer into a different class of equal or greater value may be granted if requested at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled class start time. Transfer requests made within 72 hours of the class are not guaranteed.

Substitutions
If you are unable to attend, you are always welcome to send someone in your place at no additional cost.

Cancellations by Brainery
In the rare event that Brainery must cancel a class, registrants will be offered either:

  • A transfer into a future class of equal value, or
  • A refund, as required by applicable New York State law.

By purchasing a ticket, customers acknowledge and agree to this policy at the time of sale.

I FULLY UNDERSTAND THE TERMS

At Rochester Brainery, we operate year-round, even through Rochester winters. We understand that the weather can be unpredictable, and safety is always a priority. To maintain fair and consistent expectations for students and instructors, the following policy applies to winter weather and class attendance.

Class Status & Weather Decisions

  • Classes will continue as scheduled unless officially cancelled by Rochester Brainery.
  • A cancellation decision will be made as early as reasonably possible based on conditions, instructor availability, and local advisories.
  • If a class is cancelled by Rochester Brainery, students will receive either a reschedule opportunity, class credit, or refund, depending on instructor availability.

Student Weather Concerns

  • If the class is running as scheduled, but a participant chooses not to attend due to weather, it is considered a standard absence.
  • No refunds, credits, or transfers will be issued for student absences due to weather unless the class itself is cancelled.
  • Students are encouraged to plan accordingly and allow extra travel time during winter months.

Safety First

We encourage participants to use personal judgment regarding travel. However, due to instructor commitments, space reservations, and material preparation, we must maintain this policy is in fairness to all parties.

If severe weather is forecast, online or alternative accommodations may be considered at the discretion of the instructor and Brainery staff, not guaranteed and not required.

Communication

Class status updates will be shared via email and website in the event of a cancellation. Please ensure we have your correct contact information on file.

By registering for a class during the winter months, participants acknowledge and accept the terms of this inclement weather policy.
