Meet the Teachers

Christopher Brandt is a preservation architect at Bero Architecture, specializing in researching local history in addition to designing renovations and restorations of historic buildings. His research and writing has focused on the life and careers of several local architects of the past. When not co-teaching classes with the Young Urban Preservationists, Chris is restoring and researching the history of the time capsule 1920s home he shares with his wife.

About the Venue

One of Rochester’s most distinctive buildings, Warner Castle is located in Highland Park. Built in 1854, the residence was modeled after a Scottish castle. Today the Castle is the home of The Landmark Society of Western New York and offers a strategic opportunity for the sensitive redevelopment and re-use of a unique property located in the city’s oldest park.
