Ever wonder who was responsible for designing some of your favorite buildings in Rochester? This class will provide an introduction to the many local architects and their building designs that have shaped the city we all know and love today. Learn about unique landmarks like the Liberty Pole, a few lesser-known buildings - some houses too - and expect lots of eye candy visuals, fun facts, and maybe even a bit of historical gossip!I n the Rulebreakers class, we’ll focus on the groundbreaking 19th- and 20th-century architects who pushed the boundaries of traditional design.
Location:
This class will take place indoors at Warner Castle, located at 5 Castle Park, Rochester, NY 14620. Parking is available in the lot directly outside of Warner Castle, or along Reservoir Avenue.
Age:
This class is appropriate for ages 14+.

About the teachers:
Instructors are members of the Young Urban Preservationists, an affiliate group of The Landmark Society of Western New York. The YUPs are an emerging generation of preservationists in the greater Rochester region dedicated to promoting inclusive, modern, and innovative preservation practices to help revitalize communities and our built environment.
