Terms & Conditions and Service

All Brainery class tickets are non-refundable for any reason, including but not limited to non-attendance, scheduling conflicts, illness, or personal emergencies.

Brainery classes are ticketed, event-based experiences. As is standard across the event and workshop industry, instructors are compensated and venues are reserved based on tickets sold, not attendance. This policy allows us to fairly compensate our instructors, cover material costs, and pay our venue partners.

It is your responsibility to know the date, time, location and any other pertinent information regarding your class.

Transfers
A transfer into a different class of equal or greater value may be granted if requested at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled class start time. Transfer requests made within 72 hours of the class are not guaranteed.

Substitutions
If you are unable to attend, you are always welcome to send someone in your place at no additional cost.

Cancellations by Brainery
In the rare event that Brainery must cancel a class, registrants will be offered either:

  • A transfer into a future class of equal value, or
  • A refund, as required by applicable New York State law.

By purchasing a ticket, customers acknowledge and agree to this policy at the time of sale.

There's no doubt that finding the perfect playlist can motivate and inspire you. Whether it's finishing the last mile of your run, tackling that laundry you've been putting off, or getting you through your workday, tunes can change everything. So let's motivate and inspire each other, shall we?

This is Brain Music: a selection of songs curated monthly by different members of the Rochester community that we hope will inspire you the same way it inspires its curator.

We have gotten to know a few creatives from around Rochester in Brain Music Episode 1 and Brain Music Episode 2- now lets get to know one right here at Rochester Brainery! Introducing our Brain Music Episode 3 with resident BrainBlogger, Olivia Bauso.
[...] in and outside of the school.

As a commuter student, most of my listening happens on my way to and from campus. Whether I’m flipping through radio stations, or playing from my library, I always set aside time for a good car jam session. You’ll see I set no boundaries in my listening habits.

As a dancer maker, music is vital to my process. I’m constantly inspired not only by the new pieces I hear, but also by old favorites time and time again. I use music to help establish a mood for my work, which eventually inspires the movement I create. Most of my pieces have been developed using multiple songs in the early stages, though you’ll only hear one in the final performance. Here is a list of the songs that have inspired me in the past, or are currently being used in my creative process.
